They look bulky, awkward to carry and fire for that matter, and seem like typical sci-fi weapons that were added in last minute. They look almost too cartoony to be practical weapons. The laser weapons in the Fallout don't feel like they are properly implemented. Make no mistake, I'm a science nerd through and through and do enjoy a good energy weapon when done right.
