never really understood it fully, nor saw the point in it. All the back drops are there and look great, there's also an extra 'agressor' feature which gives you more strength when you've been blocking a lot, I think.

Yes so, as people say, they 'technically' don't have their own fighting styles, but it's all about the special moves, of which they all have at least three… and they 'feel' as if they are individuals. Just look at that cast of misfit, mythical, evil characters… there's 36 to choose from in this game, which is ALL of them from the first 3 classic games.

and the only one no one else has done!… SO… I had never experienced it in the arcade but all the hype and the digitised graphics and the blood…. so much blood!!!…. Unfortunately I only owned a Master System so my first experience wasn't as polished as many… I still loved it though… there's just something about pulling off one of those perfect uppercuts… EXCELLENT !Īnyway… I really wanted to review a game from the series and this is probably the one I've played the most. The Nintendo 64 version only had Motaro and Shao Kahn available, but also a female version of Chameleon, named Khameleon.I can still remember the old adverts for when the original was released onto consoles and I was suitably excited. The Playstation version also gave players a male version of Chameleon, as well as older versions of existing characters (MKII Kung Lao, MKII Jax, MKI Kano, MKI Rayden). The Playstation version allowed players to choose the bosses from the series: Goro, Kintaro, Motaro and Shao Kahn.

There were several differences in the amount of secret/selectable characters in the Playstation and Nintendo 64 version. So Chris Alexander did the sprites instead. Midway fired Daniel Pesina (who did Johnny Cage & the Ninjas in MK & MK II) because he dressed up as Johnny Cage to advertise an arcade game called BloodStorm, which turned out to be a emphatic flop among fighting game fans. Johnny Cage is the only character that has new sprites. For more information about what this means and to see a list of games sharing the same fate, take a look here: BPjS/BPjM indexed games. On February 28, 1997, Mortal Kombat Trilogy was put on the infamous German index by the BPjS.
